Bio
Flo-Town Alabama native, Gene a.k.a. the Southern Child, has been releasing mixtapes for years in addition to appearing on local rap groups' mixtapes. After receiving praise for his debut project 'AK-47 (Controversy Pt. 1)', he has responded with three follow-up mixtapes, 'Controversy Pt. II', 'Highspeed Living' and 'The G'. Recently, The Southern Child has been working with producers Caness and Coady Carlisle on his debut album, 'Land of Ice & Sand', as well as collaborations and 'Streets Illustrated' mixtape. Expect to see more material from the Deep South's "proper poet" in 2011.
